Vortrag und Filmvorführung „ID WithoutColors“

Linksjugend [’solid] Bremen und die Kampagne für Opfer rassistischer Polizeigewalt (KOP) präsentieren den ersten Dokumentarfilm über Racial Profiling in Deutschland (2013).
Unbegründete Passkontrollen, Aggressionen von Polizeibeamten, diskriminierende Beschimpfungen und Beleidigungen, gewaltsame Festnahmen: Racial Profiling ist Alltag. Alltag für jene, die vermeintlich „fremd“ sind. Die betroffenen Menschen werden diskriminiert, ausgrenzt und stigmatisiert. Und vor allem kriminalisiert. Spätestens seit der Silvesternacht 2016/2017 in Köln ist der Begriff des Racial Profiling fest im Diskurs verankert.
Trotz dieser erhöhten Aufmerksamkeit und des Protests hat sich an dem Vorgehen der Polizei nichts geändert. Einerseits leugnet die Polizei Racial Profiling, andererseits praktiziert sie es weiterhin mit Selbstverständlichkeit unter dem Vorwand der Kriminalitätsbekämpfung. Das medial verbreitete Bild von dem Zusammenhang von Kriminalität und „Hautfarbe“ führt nur zur weiteren Stigmatisierung von Schwarzen Menschen und people of color.
KOP Bremen kämpft seit Jahren gegen Racial Profiling. Ziel von KOP ist es, auf verschiedenen Ebenen institutionellem Rassismus entgegenzutreten und damit den rassistischen Normalzustand zu durchbrechen.
Auf der Veranstaltung werden zwei Aktivistinnen einen kurzen Input zum Thema Racial Profiling und institutionellen Rassismus geben. Im Anschluss wird der Film „ID WithoutColors“ gezeigt und es wird Raum für Diskussion, Erfahrungsaustausch und Fragen geben.

Linksjugend [’solid] Bremen and the Campaign for victims of racist police brutality (KOP) present the first documentary on Racial Profiling in Germany (2013).
Unfounded passport checks, aggressions by police officers, discriminating name-calling and insults, violent arrests: Racial Profiling is a part of many peoples everyday life, people who are assumed to be „foreign“. Those affected are discriminated against, segregated, stigmatized and most of all: criminalized. At least since New Year’s Eve 2016/2017 in Cologne, the term Racial Profiling has assumed a dominant role in general discourse.
Despite hightened attention and protests against these practices, there have been no changes in police force’s actions. On the one hand, the police are constantly denying to be discriminating people based on their appearance and probable ethnicity, on the other hand, they’re still practicing Racial Profiling with implicitness and under the pretense of fighting crime. The image being spread and supported by media reports of the connection between „foreigners“ and crime only further increases deep seated biases against people of color. For years, the KOP Bremen has been fighting for more awareness to put an end to discriminationg police practices. The goal of the KOP is to work towards ending institutionalized racism on various levels and by this fighting the racist normality.
During the evening, there will be two activists giving a short input about Racial Profiling and institutionalized racism. After this, the film „ID WithoutColors“ will be screened and there will be time for discussion, exchange of experiences and questions.
